We’re taking a short break from our usual blog schedule this week – Chris has his hands full with a newborn baby and I’m on vacation, kicking back at the beach for the next few days. We’ll resume blogging business as normal on October 1st, so stay tuned.

It’s been a wild ride these past two weeks. I should apologize for missing our weekly wrap-up last week, but I was just too damn busy. Last week took Chris, myself, and the crew up to NYC for a week long advertising project shooting both video and still images.

We worked like crazy with an amazingly talented crew to create a handful of stills and video spots for a campaign that we will be telling you all about as soon as we can. As always, we can’t say too much until it’s all released – it’ll be worth the wait.

As for the last week in Philly, we’ve been back in the studio, working on a few personal projects and gearing up for Fall. We’ve got two weeks worth of photos and stories, so keep reading to find out more…

Here it is – our latest conceptual portrait. Following in the style of Paper Airplanes, Dock Jumper, and Butterfly Girl, we’re excited to release the latest and greatest in our series of personal work.

The landscape may look familiar from our trip to California earlier this year – the dramatic views of the west coast definitely served as inspiration for this picture. Make sure to head over to our website and see the image full size. Also, keep reading for behind the scenes photos & insight into how this newest image came together…

The features just keep on coming! This time we have our neighbors to the north to thank with a feature in none other than Applied Arts Magazine, Canada’s premiere source for inspired advertising, photography and design. Our photos from the deserts of Arizona were selected as a 2012 winner in the Nature & Landscape category.

There are some truly creative people in this industry. Let’s face it, you’ve got to be constantly concepting, developing, and executing or you get left in the dust. I’m fortunate to work with some really dynamic and inspiring people, ranging from art directors, to producers, to creative directors, photo editors, art buyers, and print producers. Instead of questions about email blasts, printed promos, and portfolio reviews, I think that it’s time that I put some of them on the spot to show us their meaning of Life. “The meaning of Life” may be a little far flung to answer in only ten questions, but hopefully these interviews will serve to distill some of the inspired and intellectual energy of the creatives that we work with.

In the fall of 2011 I made my first phone call to Heather Elder Represents. Not knowing who or what to expect, Lauranne LoSpalluto picked up the phone. After only exchanging a few words, the vibe felt good. We chatted for a while and the next thing I knew, my phone was ringing with a call from Heather. The rest is history. When Robert and I met up with Lauranne, her husband Mike, and their daughter Mary at a pop-up beer garden in San Fransisco earlier this year (her suggestion) I knew I’d made the right choice. I’ll let Lauranne tell the rest…

We’ve been feeling a lot of international love lately – from Switzerland to Germany to India and now we’re happy to share our latest interview, this time from Shanghai Weekly in China. This might be a tough one to get your hands on and read in person, so we’re sharing an English version of the interview. Keep reading to see what questions Shanghai Weekly had to ask…

Even though we took a minute to relax and celebrate Labor day, we were back in full swing for the first week of September. We spent the last few days working hard to get ready for a week long advertising project just ahead on the horizon and shooting, as usual, making pictures like we always do.

Our shoots this week spanned a strange mix of subject matter, ranging from beautiful conceptual portraits to 200mph gas guzzling, exhaust spewing race-cars. Yes it’s never a dull moment, even on the weeks with holidays mixed in. We’ve got more photos and stories from the past few days… keep reading to get the full scoop.
