Fast times in Montreal

We’re on the road, headed back from Montreal, home of  the Canadian Grand Prix, and for the past few days, the Formula One world champion, and Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel. The crew and I were on an editorial assignment to shoot some portraits of him during a press day for the Grand Prix.

Hopefully the shot above gives a little idea of the amount of media we were working with during this shoot – it was hectic. Make sure to read more to see a few other behind the scenes moments from our shoot.

We only had three minutes with Sebastian for the first shot, which had him sitting in front of his Red Bull F1 car. Despite the time constraints, we got a bunch of cool shots.

I’ve been working on a new head-shot lighting technique that we used for the second shot with Sebastian – couldn’t think of a better opportunity to try it out.

Our last shot was squeezed in right as Sebastian was leaving race track – in a helicopter nonetheless. There are definitely perks to being a world champion Formula One driver.

Check back in the future to see the final shots – I’ll post them as soon as I can.
