From The Archive: Travaasa Austin
It was about this time two years ago, back in 2011 when we were packing our bags and getting ready to head off to the Lone Star state to create an image library for a brand new resort property in the Texas hill country.
Our shoot for Travaasa Austin was the beginning of a project that also took us to their resort in Hawaii and could possibly lead us on new adventures in the future. For now though, keep reading for a look back and behind the scenes…
We spent the better part of two weeks down in the Lone Star state, working on the resort property at Travaasa Austin to photograph all of the adventures and luxury you could get yourself into.
That took us everywhere from zip-lining above the trees to down on the ranch for some equine adventures.
We were up with the sun almost every morning, trying to get in as much action as we could during the day…
And more often than not, those days stretched well into the evening as the sun set on the Texas hill country. Yes that might just be a beer in Chris’s hand in the behind the scenes shot above – but when you’re wrapping the last shot on a 14 hour day, it doesn’t hurt to crack open a cold one early.
Each of our shoot days had a new set of experiences that we had to shoot. From the spa, to the pool, to the fitness programs, we got as immersed as possible without actually partaking in the guest activities. Although I’ve gotta admit that I regret not getting a massage when we had the chance…
Trust me, we left no stone (or in this case, flower) unturned on our shoot at Travaasa Ausin.
I know you’ve gotta be wondering by now if any of our crew took a turn riding the bull. The unfortunate answer is that we followed the signage and for our safety, did not.
