Weekly Wrap-up, December 17th-21st

Here we are – the last week, the last shoot, the last wrap-up of 2012. And what a year it’s been! Tons of miles traveled, tons of stories told, and tons of photos shot. We’ll take a more in-depth look back and look forward towards 2013 in the coming weeks, but for now I’m happy to report that it is Friday and we and in these past few days we wrapped up our final shoot of the year working on an advertising project in Los Angeles. As always, keep reading to see what we’ve been up to this week…

We were up early in the week to hop on a flight to not-so-warm and sunny Los Angeles. You might remember a similar story last week, and we’ve definitely been spending a lot of time up in the air these past few days.

Once we got to LA and got shooting, it was time to break out the newest piece of tech in our arsenal – the new Canon 24-70mm II USM lens. It’s supposed to be bigger and better and way sharper than it’s predecessor. We’ll let you know what we think after a few shoots.

No week of shooting could be complete without another ridiculous test shot of yours truly. I think that look of excitement and hope has a little bit to do with the well deserved holiday break we’ll all be taking over the next few weeks.

Speaking of excitement – we also wrapped the shoot with a little bit of a surprise. We had to take a minute to celebrate Chris’s birthday! Make sure to wish him a happy one in the comments or @crismanphoto!

As far as what you may have missed this week on the internet:

 – We shared a brand new landscape photo from New Mexico

 – Chris spoke at length about his career and some of the mis-steps and potholes along the way

 – Heather Elder wraps up the year with some of her favorite blog posts of 2012

 – A Photo Editor and it’s commentors weigh in on the most recent instagram controversy

 – Instagram’s official response if you haven’t read it yet

Last but not least…

Early morning back on the east coast after a red-eye. Super tired, but happy to be home for the holidays. Have a great one and we’ll see you all in 2013! Cheers!
