Mac English: Squirrel Hunting in South Carolina

“I’m 77 years old and I’m still out here chasing these squirrels. I always have done it.”

We traveled down to South Carolina just about a year ago to spend two days in Sumter National Forest hiking, hunting, photographing and filming none other than Mac English, a champion squirrel hunter. We were out there in the woods – far out there. It was quite the experience, but all things considered, I’d go back and join a hunt any day.

(more…) Portfolio Update

Its about time! We’ve added a few new photos to the main portfolio on – take a look and enjoy the new shots in high resolution. If you’re curious for more info, we’ll be blogging about this photo quite a bit more in the coming weeks, and you might recognize Chris’s portrait of Tumblr Founder, David Karp from a previous blog entry as well. Enjoy!

Behind the Scenes: Cleveland Vibrator Company

You read that title right, Cleveland Vibrator Company. We’re spending the week photographing the hardworking all-American men and women behind an almost century old company in Cleveland Ohio. They manufacture and design industrial and scientific vibration equipment – think industrial mixers and conveyor-belts, not wherever else your mind might have wandered (the gutter perhaps?). It’s an amazing location filled with genuine people who we’ve had a chance to meet and photograph this week.

I’m sure we’ll be back to shoot more in the future but for now enjoy the video above and keep reading for more behind the scenes photos.

Behind the Scenes with David Karp

Do you have a Tumblr? Are you part of the 43,854,332 (and counting…) blogs that they have to offer? If so, you can thank the guy on the cover of Wired Magazine.

In December of 2011 we worked with Wired UK to photograph the young, entrepreneurial founder of Tumblr, David Karp – it was a crazy day that took us all over lower Manhattan, from the rooftops to the streets, to Tumblr HQ itself. Keep on reading for more photos from our shoot and exclusive behind the scenes…

Weekly Wrap-up, January 30th – February 3rd

It’s been a busy week – no other way to describe it. Looking ahead at the calendar for February, you’d think this week was a vacation in comparison. There’s a ton of exciting things ahead, from shooting in NYC, Philly, and Cleveland, to a pretty awesome opportunity in the works for all of you to possibly get your hands on some of Chris’s work. More about that to come next week.

For the past few days we’ve been shooting and planning, working around Philly to make some photos and get everything in order for the craziness ahead. In all honest, I can’t believe it’s the weekend already (but I am totally thankful that it is). Keep reading to see what else we’ve been up to lately…

Cameras and Cacti – Shooting in Arizona

We’re finally back in Philadelphia for a short respite before hitting the road on shoots later this week and all next week. Last week brought Chris and I to Tucson, Arizona to keep working on an editorial project about inspiring individuals. Our subjects this time showed incredible heroism and selflessness. Similar to our shoot in Texas, I wish I could share more, but that will have to wait till the magazine is released. As for now, keep reading to check out some behind the scenes shots from the desert.
