Weekly Wrap-up, January 7-11th

We’re only a week in and it looks like 2013 is already off to a crazy start. We split our time between home base in Philly and the snowy slopes of Massachusetts – Chris was off making photos and the rest of the crew was getting prepped for the next series of projects we have in the pipeline.

As I’m writing this, the Crisman team is en route to Charleston, South Carolina for a shoot followed by a multi-city tour of editorial gigs. Enough about what’s coming up – keep reading to see what we’ve been up to for the past few days…

The first shoot of the year was definitely a cold one. Chris was up on the side of a mountain, braving the elements for the sake of making great pictures.

With Chris outta town and shooting up north, That left Jared, and me to hold down the fort back in Philadelphia. Jared took the opportunity to get a few studio shoots done.

I spent most of the week knee-deep in printing and prepping our top-secret brand new portfolios. I can’t say too much until they’re finished, but they are going to be beauties. Expect full coverage on the blog in the near future!

And of course with a photo-shoot in the snow comes a series of equipment related complications and a few unfortunate failures. We’re letting this flash head dry out and warm up after taking a spill into fresh powder on the mountain earlier this week.

As far as what you may have missed this week on the internet:

 – We started off the year with a blog post looking forward to the year ahead

 – We shared behind the scenes photos and lighting diagrams of our latest group portrait for Philadelphia Magazine

 – Fellow shooter Leigh Beisch goes over her new years resolutions on Heather Elder’s blog

 – The Strobist reveals what really happened in Hong Kong during his shoot with DigitalRev

 – APhotoEditor launched the agent list – a very interesting and useful resource for photographers

Last but not least…

Something about sunsets in the wintertime. We’re always catching great light in the studio this time of year.
